Help & answers

Frequently asked questions

Everything about our books, shipping and how it all works.

What is Snailock?

Snailock is an artistic bookshop where stories, learning and imagination meet. Every book is illustrated by hand and printed on demand: we make each copy only when someone orders it.

How are the books made?

They are printed on demand by our print partner (Lulu). Nothing is stocked in a warehouse: when you order, your copy is manufactured and shipped to you. This means less waste and more care per book.

How long does shipping take?

Because each book is made to order, delivery takes a bit longer than for stocked items: production usually takes a few days, plus shipping time to your country. Times are estimates, not guarantees.

Which countries do you ship to?

We currently ship to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain and Mexico. Shipping is paid by the customer at checkout. The list of countries may grow over time.

Can I buy a digital ebook?

Yes, when a book offers it. You can choose printed, ebook (PDF) or both. The ebook is delivered after payment with a personal watermark; you can re-download it from your account.

What languages are the books in?

The whole site works in English and Spanish (use the EN/ES button). Each book may exist in English, Spanish, or both. If a book is only available in one language, we tell you clearly on its page before you buy.

Is payment secure?

Yes. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Prices are calculated on our servers, so what you pay is always the correct, current price.

What about returns and problems with my order?

Since books are made to order, we can’t accept change-of-mind returns, but if your order arrives damaged, is significantly delayed, or gets lost, contact us at orders@snailock.com and we’ll help with a reprint or claim.

Who writes the books?

Some are created in-house and others by independent authors who publish with Snailock. You can browse the authors and follow your favourites to hear when they release something new.
